How To Feed Hundreds of People in 30 Minutes

Today was INSANE! Our district planned to release 3 hours early due to the potential ice storm that was on the way but 1 1/2 hours into our day it was announced that we were going to release 4 hours early!

Here was today's schedule:

8:45 - 9:15: Arrivals
9:20 - 9:55: Specials
10:00 - 11:00: Math
11:00 - 11:30: Lunch
11:35: Dismissal

Yes, everyone that was my ENTIRE day!

The most EXCITING part was watching our cafeteria staff trying to feed at least half of our school population in 30 minutes

When it was my lunch time (the very last) here is what it looked liked on our hallway:

And just around the corner:

Our school is pretty big but it went pretty smoothly because the people that work in my school are awesome. My kiddos only had a total of 15 minutes to eat after we got back to our classroom though.

So today I am thankful for my amazing school staff and also that I am safe, dry, and warm before the evening commute.

  1. That certainly is a short day! Hope you don't get hit too hard with the bad weather!

  2. It was certainly a crazy day...especially after they changed dismissal time from 3 to 4 hours earlier. My kiddos were good. The adults were the hyper ones :)

  3. Oh wow! So glad ours was called and we didn't go at all due to the ice.

  4. OMG...I was the last lunch today too! I was SO mad when we didn't get out 4 hours early. Durham so should have called it. The roads were bad...and still are! Glad you made it back safe!

  5. OMG, that is crazy. I am glad that we only have rain.

  6. I'm in Wake too and I agree, Friday was crazy! I'm glad they got us all home safely but the mad rush to get lunch and make sure everyone knew how they were going to get home wore me out! I'm your newest follower - love your blog and your TPT shop!
